Fast bowler Dhawal Kulkarni has been named in Mumbai’s squad for the West Zone one-dayers and is set to return to competitive cricket following a long lay-off due to a toe injury last November.Kulkarni hurt himself last year a couple of days after he was named in the squad for the ODIs against West Indies. He had played the side’s opening Ranji game against Haryana but the toe injury kept him out for the rest of Mumbai’s first-class season, which ended with a quarter-final defeat to Maharashtra.Middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav, who led India Under-23s to victory in the ACC Emerging Teams Cup in August last year, will captain Mumbai. Yadav had a good Ranji season, scoring 529 runs in eight games, including a century in the quarters against Maharashtra and the move to promote him to captain was done with the aim of building a squad for the future.Mumbai play their tournament-opener against Baroda on February 27 and will also play Gujarat, Maharashtra and Saurashtra in the West Zone leg that lasts until March 3. VAIAS A RODOLFO E LUCIANO
A torcida tricolor deixou o Maracanã de sorriso aberto após o empate ao apagar das luzes, é claro. Mas durante os 90 minutos, satisfação não foi o principal sentimento. Rodolfo, após toque fraco na bola no gol de Pedro Rocha, e Luciano, foram alvo de vaias. O comandante do Fluminense saiu em defesa de seus atletas.

– O que eu tenho para falar é que os jogadores se empenham demais. Luciano teve um grande começo, é um jogador que eu acredito, o Rodolfo também – declarou o comandante tricolor.

PEDRO NA SELEÇÃO OLÍMPICA
Outro tema da coletiva do técnico foi a convocação de Pedro para a Seleção Olímpica. Nesta sexta-feira, o centroavante de 21 anos foi chamado por André Jardine para a disputa do Torneio de Toulon, na França. Se for liberado, o camisa 9 perde, entre outros jogos, a volta contra o Cruzeiro, pela Copa do Brasil, em Belo Horizonte. Perguntado sobre a situação do atleta, Diniz foi enfático.

– Se passasse por mim, ele jamais seria convocado. Se dependesse só de mim, o Pedro jamais iria para a Seleção Olímpica. Sobre a condição física dele, não é nada demais. Está se tratando, talvez possa jogar no sábado, não sei.

AGRADECIMENTOS AO TORCEDOR
Fernando Diniz dedicou o fim da coletiva ao torcedor do Fluminense. O treinador não economizou palavras para agradecer o apoio ao seu trabalho no comando técnico do clube das Laranjeiras.

Dhruv Raval (61) and Venugopal Rao (58) ensured the target of 233 was never beyond reach. However, Dhawal Kulkarni snared two wickets in the 36th over, including Raval’s to restore balance. Mumbai used the opening to push Gujarat to 194 for 6 in the 43rd over before Rao took charge again to lead them to a final-ball finish. The Mumbai top-order could not click and it was left to the captain Suryakumar Yadav, who hit a 67-ball 57 – the only half-century of the innings – to offer some structure to the score. Medium-pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 35 off his 12 overs.Half-centuries from Ankit Bawne (64) and Rahul Tripathi (62) built a score that proved just enough as the Maharashtra bowlers combined to sink Saurashtra by four runs. The duo’s 106-run partnership masked a feeble contribution from the openers. But both batsmen fell in the 35th over but the ensuing wobble was controlled by a Nitin Naik’s brisk cameo (42) to take the total to 254. Seamer Balkrishna Jadeja began well, but his three wickets cost 71 runs. Saurashtra’s reply was built on middle-order contributions as well, with Akshay Darekar dismissing three of the top four. Aarpit Vasavada managed a 67-ball 68 as he and Chirag Jani (42) kept the chase alive with an 86-run stand for the sixth wicket. Bu the tail could not muster the same resolve as the last two batsmen were run-out to end the game. Central Zone Madhya Pradesh began their Vijay Hazare campaign in dramatic fashion, with a tie against Uttar Pradesh in a rain-shorted match in Jaipur. The rain arrived soon after the toss in the morning, and almost wiped out the game, but eventually the officials were able to fit in the minimum 20-overs per side. In the wet conditions, however, MP, who were inserted, could not score at T20 pace. They finished at little over a run a ball, on 137 for 6. Medium pacer Amit Mishra, while one of UP’s more expensive bowlers, was also their most effective, taking 4 for 38. In the reply, several of UP’s top order got starts – four of the top six got into the 20s – but none could kick on to seal the game. As they fell to 118 for 8 in the 19th over, it was left to allrounder Piyush Chawla to get the big hit away; he managed to once, but could not do enough to get the team over the line.The match between Railways and Vidarbha in Jaipur was abandoned without a ball being bowled owing to wet weather. South ZoneTamil Nadu thumped Andhra by eight wickets, with almost 20 overs to spare, to register their second win in as many games in the tournament. Tamil Nadu chose to bowl and pace bowler Yo Mahesh justified that decision, running through Andhra’s top and middle order. Mahesh took 5 for 31 as only one of Andhra’s top eight got into double digits. It took a dogged 37 from No. 9 T Atchuta Rao to get them past the 100 mark; they were bowled out for 126 in the 42nd over. Tamil Nadu’s openers, M Vijay and U Sushil, then all but sealed the game, putting on 84 in 20 overs. Vijay was out soon after completing a half-century, to legspinner Swaroop Kumar – who also took out B Aparajith first ball – before captain S Badrinath saw the game through with Sushil.An unbeaten half-century from Ashish Reddy helped Hyderabad record the second tie of the day, against Karnataka in Bangalore. The scores finished level after a seesawing Hyderabad innings: after looking strong at 142 for 2 in 31 overs in pursuit of 248, they fell prey to Karnataka’s seamers and slid to 165 for 6 before Reddy’s counterattacking 51 off 40 got them two points from the match. Abhimanyu Mithun triggered the mini-collapse, getting Ravi Teja caught behind. Vinay Kumar then cashed in, claiming three quickly on his way to a five-for. Earlier, Karnataka had got to 248 for 8 on the back of a team showing – all but one player got into double digits, and three got into the 40s though there was no half-century.Kerela captain Sachin Baby struck a brisk 89 to shepherd a modest chase as his side beat Goa by wickets. Goa suffered an early blow when Swapnil Asnodkar had to retire hurt on 33. Regular wickets tumbled starting with Sandeep Warrier nipping out two in successive overs. Harshad Gadekar and No.9 Robin D’Souza shared a 52-run stand for the seventh wicket to push the score past 200 but the eventual target was not threatening. Prasanth Parameswaran mopped up the tail to end up with 4 for 36 off his nine overs. The chase was primarily built around Baby as he guided two half-century stands for the fourth and fifth wickets and though he could not finish the game off, by the time he got out there were only 38 runs with over 10 overs left.

وأضاف: “لقد خسر ليفربول بالفعل بعض اللاعبين مثل جوردان هندرسون وفابينيو إلى الدوري السعودي ومحمد صلاح سيكون الاسم الكبير القادم”.

وواصل تصريحاته: “سيبلغ محمد صلاح من العمر 32 عامًا في الصيف المقبل، إذا عَرض عليه مليون جنيه إسترليني في الأسبوع وحصل ليفربول على مقابل مادي للصفقة، فيمكنني أن أرى تلك الصفقة تحدث”.

Marcus Trescothick has been the mainstay of Somerset cricket for so long that any sign that he is beginning to rediscover some of his old poise is bound to quicken West Country hearts. There were enough Trescothick clumps to record on an abbreviated first day at Hove, interspersed in an innings of staunch resistance, to encourage the belief that the old mastery can yet return and provide the sort of finish he deserves as the shadows lengthen on a grand career.Sussex’s seam attack has possessed an early-season potency that has carried them to the top of Division One, their first two matches won, and once the grouchy South Coast skies had finally relented, 32 overs represented a daunting proposition for Somerset: more than enough time, as events elsewhere in the country indicated, for carnage to ensue.When Chris Jordan, in turquoise-backed boots, twinkled in with a loosener which may not be bettered all season, Chris Jones edging his first ball to the wicketkeeper, that impression was heightened, but their line was astray too often. It was only in the nick of time that Sussex made further inroads after Trescothick and Nick Compton gradually asserted themselves with impressive deliberation.Compton was 14 balls away from seeing out the day when he became the second batsman to be caught at the wicket, this time off Steve Magoffin. Sussex looked at their most dangerous when Jordan had the slope in his favour in his second spell. He made several deliveries bounce steeply and, from one of them, the nightwatchman Jamie Overton fell to a cracking reaction catch at second slip, low to his left, by Mike Yardy.The Sussex keeper, incidentally, remains Ben Brown as Matt Prior’s Achilles problems are yet to relent. A season in which he must have yearned to make heavy runs to re-establish himself in the England side has so far deepened concerns about his longevity at international level.Prior habitually credits cycling with assisting his recovery, but this time his ailment has been so troublesome that he might have to put in enough miles to have an outside chance of a Tour de France spot when the tour comes to Yorkshire later this summer.Trescothick stood firm to the close. Somerset’s hopes must be that when he finally retires, his 2013 Championship season will be seen as an aberration: an average of 28 and, more strikingly, no Championship century for the first time since 1998, a shortfall which encouraged much chat about whether he should reduce the burden by relinquishing the captaincy. The player himself saw no burden and remains, a player whose big presence on the county circuit continues to be prized by the crowds and whose wicket is still valued by the professionals he pits himself against.Never particularly fleet of foot, he took his first run from a pushed drive a little slowly – setting off like a second-hand tractor on a damp morning. There are many farmers in Somerset who will tell you that a second-hand tractor is not to be trusted, but this particular variety has proved its serviceability more than most.More than 20 overs elapsed before Trescothick’s first belligerent moment – an overpitched delivery from James Anyon which he barndoored through cover. The old boy clearly got a taste for it and so nearly got out as he failed to connect with an attempted repeat against a wider delivery. But his authority had been announced and when Anyon went in search of a similar dismissal in his next over Trescothick deposited him for three boundaries in a row. A sumptuous straight drive near the close was the highlight. Another tough examination lies ahead.
