Zimbabwe and Bangladesh ended a competitive second day with the Test finely balanced between the sides. Bangladesh batted with a similar caution to the one Zimbabwe’s batsmen implemented on a pitch that remains good for batting but offers something for the bowlers as well.Zimbabwe’s opening bowlers, debutants Brian Vitori and Kyle Jarvis, made a threatening start but Chris Mpofu and Elton Chigumbura operated as containing, rather than attacking, change-bowlers. Ray Price chipped in with economical overs towards the end of the day and worked to deceive the batsmen with generous flight.Vitori and Jarvis made impressive starts to their international careers, bowling at good pace and extracting fine carry from the pitch. Left-armer Vitori got consistent away movement from the left-handers while bringing the ball into the right-handers. He controlled the short ball well and was rewarded when Imrul Kayes was forced to play at one that held its line and got an outside edge through to first slip. He dismissed Tamim Iqbal in similar fashion, making him play at a length ball that caught the edge and found a diving Brendan Taylor at second slip. Jarvis was the quicker of the two though he occasionally pitched it too full.The pair proved a handful for Shahriah Nafees, who was dropped by Tino Mawoyo at third slip when he was on eight, and he shuffled through a frenetic first hour, looking restless and edgy. Nafees was allowed to become more comfortable after tea and judged when to leave with more assurance.Mpofu and Chigumbura both bowled a focused line and continued to pepper Nafees and Mohammad Ashraful with short balls, though the strategy failed to make an impact. Even before the match started, Zimbabwe talked up using a back-of-a-length line to intimidate Bangladesh but Nafees and Ashraful contended with it admirably.Ashraful played with almost Brendan Taylor-like patience, watching, leaving, and playing only when the occasion called for it. The bulk of his runs came in boundaries, with the pick of them being a straight drive that was pushed past the non-striker with impeccable timing. He held his own even when Nafees ran out of luck and was bowled by a Price delivery that popped off the bat and onto the bail. Together with Mahmudullah, he saw Bangladesh to a reasonably safe position overnight.Zimbabwe would have been disappointed with their batting as their middle and lower order collapsed with eight wickets falling for just 66 runs. They showed only glimpses of the concentration and application shown by their top order, with poor shot selection costing them.Shafiul and Robiul Islam began the morning with the opposite approach to the one they employed on day one and bowled wicket to wicket and fuller instead of wide of offstump or too short, forcing defensive strokes and making it hard for Taylor and Hamilton Masakadza to score. After 13 overs, the pair had added just nine runs to the overnight total and appeared to be stagnating.Masakadza eventually managed to bring up his second Test century with an elegant clip to square leg. His innings was a display of maturity and technical aptitude and once he reached his milestone he was able to play with more freedom.Taylor, who had batted sedately for the most part of his innings, reached his 50 off 140 balls with a rare shot of aggression, a crunching cut. Just as Taylor and Masakadza were getting ready to up the tempo, Masakadza drove away from his body and found the edge, which was gobbled up by Kayes at first slip.With that breakthrough, Bangladesh went into hunting mode and Mahmudullah was brought on after 19 overs. His only task was to remove left-hander Craig Ervine, which he did by trapping him lbw, and he was promptly taken out of the attack after two overs. Taylor crept back into his shell with those two losses and struggled with his footwork, causing his own undoing, when he slashed at a Robiul delivery and was caught behind.The panic set in when Shakib Al Hasan removed Elton Chigumbura on the stroke of lunch, with the former captain getting a top edge in his attempt to sweep, giving Bangladesh bragging rights after the first period. They kept up the intensity after the break with Shakib keeping five men around the bat. Rubel Hossain showed the same aggression in bowling to the lower order and removed Price but it was Shakib who made big breakthroughs, enticing Tatenda Taibu forward with a full delivery and getting Vitori to hole out to deep midwicket.

Sachin Tendulkar has hailed team-mate Rahul Dravid’s contribution to the Indian team in the limited-overs format, describing him as “a role model” and “the unsung hero of the Indian team.”Dravid, who announced his retirement from the limited-overs format during the ongoing tour of England will be appearing in his last ODI in the fifth and final game in Cardiff on Friday. Tendulkar, who was ruled out of the ODI series due to injury, praised Dravid’s work ethic and his ability to “stay a step ahead of the game”.”When he started playing ODI cricket, he faced some initial difficulties, but he was never one to give up,” Tendulkar told the . “He worked very hard on his flaws, and he made sure to fight it out.”With a career strike-rate of just over 71, Dravid has often been labelled as being unsuited for shorter formats of the game, something that Tendulkar disagreed with. “He may not give you a quick start, but he will surely make his innings count in terms of time spent at the crease. You need such players in the team, and he was the best man for the job. Others in the team played around him, while Rahul batted as the situation demanded. It wasn’t that he couldn’t bat quickly; he just made sure that he batted according to the situation.”Rahul also had that ability to finish a game, and I remember he played the same role at No. 5, or for that matter at any other spot in the batting order. أصدر الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم برئاسة جمال علام بيانًا رسميًا، يعلن من خلاله غلق باب القيد الشتوي رسميًا، ويكشف من خلاله تفاصيل أزمة نادي الزمالك.

وأُغلق باب القيد رسميًا بموسم الانتقالات الشتوية في الكرة المصرية، والذي امتد من يوم 1 يناير حتى 31 من الشهر ذاته، وشهد قيد صفقات جميع الأندية بعد قيامها بجدولة مستحقاتها، باستثناء نادي الزمالك.

وتواصل الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم مع مسؤولي نادي الزمالك، لإبلاغهم بضرورة تسوية المستحقات المتأخرة لدى الاتحاد، قبل غلق باب القيد بشكل رسمي، لكن لم يتواصل النادي لقيد أي لاعب.

وفي اللحظات الأخيرة من يوم 31 يناير، حضر مسؤولو نادي الزمالك إلى مقر الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، لقيد لاعبيه “ناصر منسي، أحمد بلحاج، ومحمود شبانة” دون جدولة المديونية.

وقام نادي الزمالك برفع أسماء لاعبيه على نظام الانتقالات الإلكتروني، قبل الساعة 12 صباحًا موعد نهاية القيد، لكن الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم رفض السماح بقيد اللاعبين، دون تسوية مديونية النادي.

ورغم مخاطبة نادي الزمالك لدفع الديون المستحقة لمصلحة الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم، سواءً نقدًا أو عن طريق شيكات مقبولة الدفع، رفضت إدارة نادي الزمالك، وطلبت تسديد مبلغ ضئيل من المديونية، التي يذهب 75% من قيمتها لخزينة الضرائب الخاصة بالقيد.

لذلك أعلن الاتحاد المصري لكرة القدم عدم مسؤوليته عن عدم قيد لاعبي الزمالك، وأن الأمر يخص إدارة النادي فقط.

Mohammad Asif attributed his infamous no-ball in last year’s Lord’s Test to the abuse he received in the over from his captain Salman Butt, a court heard in London on Thursday.Butt’s lawyer Ali Bajwa QC hit back at those claims, though, by counter-accusing Asif of fabricating his story to justify the no-ball. In fact the 90-minute exchange between Asif and Bajwa sometimes brought laughter from the court as Asif stuck to his story against Bajwa’s grilling. Asif, speaking in broken English, often required the services of his Urdu interpreter.Asif was appearing in the witness stand for the first time on the 12th day of the alleged spot-fixing trial, and his lawyer Alexander Milne QC followed an introduction of his career with the nitty-gritty moment about the no-balls in question.Butt and Asif are facing charges of conspiracy to cheat and conspiracy to obtain and accept corrupt payments following the Lord’s Test last year when they allegedly conspired with agent Mazhar Majeed, teenager Mohammad Amir and other people unknown to bowl pre-planned no-balls. Butt and Asif deny the charges.When discussing the tenth over at Lord’s in which Asif’s one questionable no-ball was delivered, on the sixth ball of the over, Milne asked his client if anything was said to him during this over. He responded by revealing how captain Butt had abused him when moving into a “suspicious” short, straight mid-off position.”He said run faster f*****, and went on to say something like ‘haven’t you slept’? Somebody kept shouting. I think Butt was saying things; that made me lose concentration.”Milne replied to that answer by asking Asif whether Butt’s comment was said in a funny way, pointing out that swear words can sometimes be used in a humorous, friendly way.”No, it wasn’t friendly,” Asif said. “It was unfriendly for a captain to speak like that to me, especially with my position in the rankings.” Asif went on: “I thought to myself that I had slept well last night so why is he saying these things. He was desperate for wickets but so was I.”Bajwa quizzed Asif on why he did not give this explanation in his initial police interview last year, when he told police officers that he had not been put under any pressure to bowl the no-ball.”I’m going to suggest to you that Mr Butt never referred to you as a f***** at that time or any other time,” Bajwa said. “Why didn’t you say at this point (in your police interview) that ‘my captain was putting me under pressure and that’s why I bowled the no-ball’.”Bajwa, who also accused Asif of “untruthfully downplaying” his relationship with the Majeed brothers, further said of Asif’s no-ball excuse: “That, Mr Asif, is a desperate invention by you because you fear that the jury won’t accept your story for bowling a no-ball.”Asif pointed out, referring back to his police interview, that he meant he was not pressured into bowling an intentional no-ball as opposed to the circumstances leading up to what he regards as an accidental no-ball.Bajwa, using a replay of the over, pointed out that Asif checked his spikes and had sawdust scattered on the crease afterwards and if he was blaming his captain he would have reacted differently by “glaring” at Butt and telling him how he felt.During the morning’s proceedings Milne also established through his answers from his client that Asif had minimal contact with Majeed. In fact although his older brother Azhar Majeed acted as his unsigned agent from 2006, bringing him two unpaid assignments in that time, he did not even meet Mazhar until May 2010 during the Twenty20 World Cup in West Indies.Asif told how Majeed frequently contacted him to sign a contract with his management company and would promise him sponsorship agreements with companies like GM (Gunn & Moore). Asif said he tolerated him because “GM was a big brand”. Apart from those conversations Asif also told of how he frequently rejected offers either from Butt or Majeed to go to dinners with them, as he preferred to dine with friends from outside of the team.Asif also denied ever having any knowledge of taking any money for the no-balls or even having any knowledge that other people had “an interest” in his bowling a no-ball.The fast bowler also claimed that journalist Mazhar Mahmood met him on two separate occasions after scandal broke, even though Mahmood denied any such meeting during the presentation of his evidence. Asif claimed that Mahmood introduced himself as solicitor Imran Sheikh, offering to help him and asking him many questions about the scandal.The defendant said that Sheikh later met up with him in Lahore and tried again to probe him for more answers of the scandal.The case continues.

Confusão

Inconformados com a marcação de pênalti do árbitro Péricles Bassols, a torcida do ABC protagonizou cenas horríveis no Frasqueirão. Alguns atacaram objetos em direção ao juiz e outros chegaram a invadir o gramado, mas pularam o alambrado de volta. Assustados, os jogadores das duas equipes ficaram concentrados no meio de campo ao lado do trio de arbitragem.

Após 13 minutos de confronto paralisado, o ABC voltou com muita gana e conseguiu o empate. Higor Leite cobrou falta, Erivélton desviou e venceu o goleiro Andrey.

He has played just two competitive games since he was hit on the left index finger by Tim Bresnan during the Nottingham Test, and returns to the India squad for the home Test series against West Indies. Yuvraj, who has not enjoyed the same success in the longer format as he has in ODIs, said he wanted to rejuvenate his Test career.”It’s the right time to focus on my Test career,” he told . “I want to be remembered as a good batsman in the longer format of the game. I have always tried to give my best shot whenever on the field but unfortunately injury issues were there. In the upcoming series against West Indies and Australia, I want to score big and make a mark in the Test format. I want to restructure my Test career and I’ll raise the bar this time.”The 35 Tests Yuvraj has featured in have been played over eight years. For a large part of his career, he was kept out of the Test side by a strong middle order that included Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. Once Ganguly retired, he was given an extended run in the side but couldn’t cement his place. He fell ill before the second Test in Sri Lanka in 2010, and a century from Suresh Raina on debut in that game meant Yuvraj was once again relegated to the sidelines. His Man-of-the-Series performance in the 2011 World Cup put him back in contention for a Test place, but an injury kept him out of the tour to the West Indies and his series in England was cut short by the finger injury.Yuvraj said his Test career had been blighted by the number of injuries he has had but he still had time to change things. “My best years are yet to come. After a long injury layoff, I am fully fit and raring to go. My career has been marred by a lot of injury issues but I think it’s on the right path now. After coming back from England, I trained hard. My body has taken a beating in the past year but there are no more injuries now.”The first Test between India and West Indies starts on November 6 in Delhi, and Yuvraj could be in a contest with Virat Kohli for a place in India’s middle order.

يستعد الأهلي وريال مدريد ناديا القرن في إفريقيا وأوروبا لمواجهة بعضهما البعض في الدور نصف النهائي من بطولة كأس العالم للأندية 2022 والتي تقام في الوقت الحالي بالمغرب وتستمر حتى 11 فبراير.

ويلتقي الأهلي وريال مدريد يوم غدًا، الأربعاء 8 فبراير، في تمام الساعة التاسعة مساءً بتوقيت “القاهرة” على ملعب “مولاي عبد الله” في مدينة “الرباط” بقيادة الحكم الأوروجوياني الدولي، أندريس ماتونيني.

ونعود بالذاكرة قبل أكثر من 21 عامًا مع حارس مرمى ريال مدريد السابق، سيزار سانشيز، الذي كان يلعب أساسيًا في مباراة القرن الودية أمام الأهلي وسط حضور غفير في إستاد القاهرة الدولي.

تمت مراوغة سانشيز من قبل حسام غالي لاعب الأهلي بالدقيقة 51 في ذلك الوقت قبل تمرير الكرة إلى زميله البديل، صنداي، الذي لم يتهاون في وضع الكرة داخل شباك ريال مدريد للفوز بالمباراة التاريخية.

مرحبًا بك سيزار، كيف تتذكر زيارتك إلى مصر مع ريال مدريد قبل 21 عامًا؟

“ذكرياتي عن القاهرة رائعة، الناس استقبلونا بشكل جيد للغاية، كانوا لطفاء، كان ترحيبًا حارًا من قبل الجماهير، لقد تعرفنا على التاريخ والثقافة المصرية عندما زرنا الأهرامات، كانت تجربة استثنائية ولا تصدق”.

وماذا عن المباراة والخسارة 1-0، وما هي أسبابها؟

“في كرة القدم كل شيء ممكن، للأسف خسرنا، لم نخض المباراة في التوقيت المناسب لقد كانت في فترة الإعداد قبل الموسم، كنا مازلنا نحضر أنفسنا، الطقس شديد الحرارة كان له تأثيرًا كذلك، لكن الأهلي قدم أيضًا مباراة مثالية”.

الأهلي يواجه ريال مدريد مرة أخرى غدًا، ما هي توقعاتك لمباراة هي رسمية في كأس العالم للأندية الآن في المغرب؟

“طالما مباراة واحدة، لابد أن تتوقع حدوث مفاجآت، لكن ريال مدريد يظل دائمًا المفضل للفوز ولكن يجب أن يتخذ اللاعبون حذرهم حتى لا تتكرر نتيجة 2001 في القاهرة”.

ريال مدريد يعاني كثيرًا مع أنشيلوتي عكس الموسم الماضي، هل الإصابات السبب أم هناك سبب آخر؟

“لن يستطع أي فريق الحفاظ على مستواه لفترة طويلة، أمر طبيعي في كرة القدم ما يحدث مع ريال مدريد، كذلك الإصابات ضربت اللاعبين المهمين وفي مراكز لا يوجد بها بدائل أخرى، لكن على الرغم من ذلك أتوقع أن يقدم اللاعبون مباراة رائعة أمام الأهلي”.

هل هناك فرصة أمام الأهلي للفوز؟

“ربما يكون غياب كورتوا سببًا كبيرًا في حدوث مفاجأة، تيبو أفضل حارس في العالم، عدم وجوده أعتبره نذير شؤم، لكن أندري لونين (الحارس البديل) كلما تسنح له فرصة يستغلها بأداء من أفضل ما يكون، فهو حارس مرمى عظيم وله مستقبل رائع”.

وبالحديث عن الكرة المصرية في نهاية حوارنا، ذكر سيزار سانشيز مفارقة غريبة وهي مزاملته للاعب الأهلي ومنتخب مصر السابق الذي قام بمراوغته في مباراة القرن الشهيرة، حسام غالي..

“لقد أتيحت لي الفرصة للعب مع حسام غالي في توتنهام (موسم 2008/2009)، كذلك أعرف الكثير من المدربين الإسبان الذين دربوا في الدوري المصري”.

“كان من المؤسف أيضًا أن أرى منتخب مصر لا يتأهل لبطولة كأس العالم الأخيرة في قطر، كنت متأكدًا من أنهم كانوا سيقدمون بطولة كبيرة”.

هل جئت إلى مصر مرة أخرى بعد عام 2001؟

“إنه موضوع معلق بالنسبة لي ولأسرتي، لقد قمنا بعدة محاولات للسفر إلى مصر لكننا لم ننجح، وأثق في أننا سنفعلها في أقرب وقت ممكن”.
