Jesse Lingard started on fire during his loan spell at West Ham and that is the problem the Hammers will have this summer as several clubs will be looking at him, with finance expert Kieran Maguire believing that Manchester United will want as much cash upfront as possible.

David Moyes took a chance on Lingard who had failed to start a Premier League game during the first half of the season, but they failed to insert an option or obligation to buy which will allow other clubs to take an avid interest in the England international this summer.

The possibility of Lingard returning to Old Trafford to fight for his place can also not be ruled out, however if he is to leave this summer he reportedly has more than just West Ham as potential suitors with the likes of Arsenal and PSG holding an interest in the 28-year-old.

West Ham will be confident that they will have the edge over other potential destinations as Lingard knows the squad, manager and area, but it will be down to who stumps up the most cash. That’s according to Maguire of the Price of Football, who spoke exclusively to Transfer Tavern:

“If you’ve got three clubs each of whom are willing to pay £40-50 million for Jesse Lingard, then from Manchester United’s point of view they will be trying to get the best deal for themselves, which is a deal front-loaded in terms of cash.

“He’s already got a good working relationship with David Moyes and he’s proven himself to the fans and the rest of the squad. So I think it’s been beneficial for Manchester United and I think they’ll be able to command a higher price, and that will be the bigger issue for West Ham.”

With West Ham able to offer European football and guarantee to start almost every game, Lingard could be swayed to stay in London with the Hammers, however, it is more down to the fact if West Ham can afford whatever Man United ask for.

If they failed to bring him back this summer it would put Moyes at a huge disadvantage as he would first need to replace Lingard before even trying to improve his squad as losing out on the 28-year old would put them behind where they actually finished this season.

Esse tipo de cultura nós não vamos aceitar mais – afirmou Ricardo Rotenberg, membro do Comitê Executivo de Futebol do Botafogo, em entrevista à “Rádio Brasil”.

Gabriel Novaes, inclusive, estava no Rio de Janeiro desde o começo da semana, mas retornará ao São Paulo para ser reintegrado ao elenco da equipe comandada por Fernando Diniz. O Botafogo, por sua vez, fica com Pedro Raul, Rafael Navarro e Igor Cássio como opções para a posição de centro-avante.

O jogador de 20 anos foi artilheiro da Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior em 2019 e, logo após a competição, foi emprestado ao Barcelona B. Na equipe da Catalunha, contudo, não teve sucesso e logo foi repassado ao Córdoba, da terceira divisão da Espanha.

وتحدث فيريرا عن بعض الأمور الفنية الخاصة باللقاء السابق أمام الوداد المغربي والذي انتهى بفوز الأخير بهدف دون رد، والأخطاء التي وقع فيها الفريق.

وطالب المدرب البرتغالي من اللاعبين التركيز والعمل الجاد والالتزام بالتعليمات المطلوبة من كل لاعب.

According to a report by Italian news outlet La Stampa, Tottenham Hotspur now represent the ‘most attractive offer’ for ex-Chelsea boss Antonio Conte as chairman Daniel Levy continues the hunt for a new manager.

The Lowdown: Conte quits Inter…

As announced yesterday evening, the 51-year-old has left Inter Milan and the belief is that the separation was due to differences in moving the club forward.

Conte, on the one hand, desired new signings and a ‘clear project to win again’, while the Nerazzurri need to offload players and recuperate €80 million (£69.1m) through sales to combat their dire financial situation (Fabrizio Romano).

As such, the Italian has departed the San Siro with immediate effect and is now available for hire.

The Latest: Spurs ‘most attractive offer’ for Conte…

Just before Conte decided to part ways with Inter, with it seeming inevitable even before the official announcement, La Stampa dropped a rather promising claim on the links between him and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Italian news outlet boldly said that Spurs have proposed a lucrative contract offer to the ex-Juventus manager worth close to €20 million (£17.3 million) in a ‘pharaonic engagement’.

Meanwhile, lifting the lid on Conte’s stance when it comes to a possible Spurs move, La Stampa believe that the Lilywhites represent the ‘most attractive offer’ for him.

This is due to Spurs representing a huge stimulus for Conte in terms of turning their results around, with the ‘offer of recruitment’ also an enticing draw.

Levy’s alleged £17.3m salary offer is another reason and is said to be a ‘very convincing argument’.

The Verdict: Huge opportunity…

Now that Conte has officially quit the Inter post, his availability should force Levy to do all he can to bring him to Tottenham.

There will be big clubs across Europe knocking on the door, including Real Madrid given the news on Zinedine Zidane, with Spurs needing a proven serial-winner to turn their fortunes around.

It would arguably be foolish not to lodge a serious attempt for Conte in light of his Serie A exit, especially considering he has won four Serie A titles, two Italian Super Cups, the Premier League and FA Cup (Transfermarkt).

He is also revered by other managers, with Andrea Pirlo dubbing him a ‘demon’ and the ‘best coach’ he has ever worked with (La Gazzetta dello Sport via FourFourTwo).

Meanwhile, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola lauded Conte as a tactical ‘master’ during his time in England (Reuters).

Conte also has over 300 career wins under his belt as a manager (Transfermarkt) – could he be the saviour for Spurs?

Speaking exclusively to The Transfer Tavern, former Premier League midfielder Carlton Palmer believes Sheffield United’s next manager will have less control than Chris Wilder, and control is what forced the 53-year-old out in the first place.

Wilder left Sheffield United back in March, with the Blades glued to the bottom of the table, and the club have since confirmed that there is a five-man shortlist of managers who could potentially succeed him.

That shortlist includes Paul Heckingbottom, who was put in interim charge following Wilder’s departure from Bramall Lane.

For Palmer, handing someone like Heckingbottom the job would suggest that the club want an individual who is going to allow them to call the shots, perhaps taking on more of a head coach role rather than a manager one.

On Sheffield United’s manager situation, the ex-Sheffield Wednesday player told TT in an exclusive interview:

“This might be an issue in terms of why Chris left the club because if they put somebody like Paul, you’ve got to remember now, if you put somebody like Paul in there and they could perhaps call the shots with Paul.

“But if you get a manager worth his salts, you’re not going to be able to call the shots. He’s going to want to run the club the way that he wants to run the club. And, you know, I think in the end that was the issue with Chris Wilder – they were trying to bring in a director of football.”

In terms of external candidates, Club Brugge manager Philippe Clement is one name that has been linked with the job in recent days.

A number of Liverpool supporters have been left bemused by a “horrendous” update regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hopes of playing for England at Euro 2020.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise at Anfield, going from academy hopeful to one of the world’s best full-backs in the space of several years. While Alexander-Arnold’s form hasn’t been consistently great this season, he has been magnificent since being left out of England’s squad back in March.

The right-back has been one of Liverpool’s best players in that time and it was his pinpoint corner which allowed Alisson to memorably head the winning goal away to West Brom on Sunday. Alexander-Arnold’s all-round display was impressive, defending doggedly and producing consistent quality in the attacking third of the pitch, delivering five key passes and winning one tackle.

Despite this, The Athletic’s David Ornstein claimed that the youngster still looks likely to miss out on Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros. He wrote:

It is evident that Southgate wants his full-backs to show strong defensive qualities alongside their attacking instincts and there appear to be reservations over Alexander-Arnold’s ability to strike that balance as well as he believes the other candidates for the position are able to.

Although the door is not closed on the 22-year-old Liverpool academy graduate and the Football Association very much envisages him being part of its’ set-up in the future, it is understood to be improbable that he forces his way into this summer’s plans barring injuries or a change of heart.

أكد رالف رانجنيك مدرب مانشستر يونايتد المؤقت، أن كريستيانو رونالدو سيعود للعب يوم السبت ضد توتنهام، معلقًا على ما خلف استبعاده من مواجهة مانشستر سيتي السابقة وسفره إلى البرتغال.

كان اللاعب البرتغالي الدولي يكافح من أجل الحصول على مستواه المتأخر بعد تسجيله بشكل منتظم خلال الجزء الأول من الموسم، وكان غائبًا في هزيمة مانشستر يونايتد 4-1 أمام مانشستر سيتي نهاية الأسبوع الماضي.

يعود إقصاء رونالدو عن الفريق إلى مشكلة في عضلات الفخذ، حيث اتجه اللاعب إلى البرتغال بعد إعلان أنه غير لائق للديربي.

مع وجود علامات استفهام حول ما إذا كان سيعود لمواجهة توتنهام أم لا، كشف رانجنيك أن لاعبه قد شارك في التدريبات ويجب أن يكون متاحًا للمباراة في أولد ترافورد.

وقال المدرب الألماني في تصريحاته خلال المؤتمر الصحفي: “استأنف رونالدو التدريبات أمس، لقد تدرب طوال فترة التدريب وأتوقع أن يتدرب اليوم، كنت أعتقد أنه سيكون متاحًا غدًا”.

وأضاف رانجنيك: “لم أسأله عما إذا كان سعيدًا في مانشستر في هذا النادي، إنه يتمتع باللياقة البدنية مرة أخرى، واستأنف التدريب أمس وسنرى التشكيلة التي سنعتمد عليها غدًا أمام توتنهام”.

مع وجود رونالدو وإدينسون كافاني في المواجهة، سيتعين على مانشستر يونايتد الاستغناء عن لوك شاو وسكوت مكتوميناي.

وكشف رانجنيك: “لوك شاو سيغيب، حتى يوم أمس، ما زالت الاختبارات إيجابية بالنسبة لإصابته بكورونا، وسكوت علامة استفهام، مشاكل مع ربلة الساق، في الوقت الحالي، من المرجح ألا يكون متاحًا لأننا إذا خاطرنا به غدًا فقد يخرج للمباراة يوم الثلاثاء (ضد أتلتيكو مدريد)، أميل إلى توخي الحذر إذا كان الأمر كذلك إصابة عضلية”.

واستمر: “هو يواصل كل يوم على هذا المستوى، هو يواصل تسجيل الأهداف، خاصة المهمة أيضًا، إنه رجل عظيم ويتحلى بالصبر، لدينا منافسة في جميع المراكز، سعيد من أجله في كل مرة يسجل فيها”.

وواصل: “لا شيء يتغير من وجهة نظرنا، نحن نتعامل مع كل مباراة على حدة، نواصل المضي قدمًا، لا يمكنك أن تنظر للأمام بعيدًا”.

واختتم ميلنر تصريحاته قائلًا: “بالنسبة لنا الأمر يتعلق بالمباراة التالية، هذا هو الشيء الأكثر أهمية”.
