Wolves transfer’ deadline day has taken the club’s supporters through a whole range of emotions.

They began the day looking as though they’d bring one of the most talented young midfielders in Europe to the club in Renato Sanches but he now won’t be heading to Molineux.

What’s the word?

After several hours of negativity in the market, it looks like Bruno Lage could finally bring some positive news to Wolves fans before the window slams shut in the next few hours.

That’s because the Old Gold are in talks to conclude two deals before the market closes.

One player is Marseille defender Boubacar Kamara but they’re also chasing a striker in the shape of Kieffer Moore.

Tim Spiers revealed yesterday that it was unlikely that the Cardiff forward would move but Wolves are attempting to complete a deal anyway.

That’s according to Sky Sports reporter Anton Toloui who took to Twitter to say the following: “WWFC are in talks with Marseille for Boubacar Kamara (as per David Ornstein) & Cardiff for Kieffer Moore (@JPercyTelegraph). No fees agreed for either as yet. Moore is currently isolating after being deemed a close contact of Adam Davies, who tested positive for Covid-19.”

Get excited

After such a day of turmoil for supporters, there is finally some news for the fans to get excited about.

Moore might only arrive as a back-up to Raul Jimenez but it’s been abundantly clear throughout the whole summer that Wolves need a bigger squad.

They only had 15 senior players training with them a few weeks ago so the Wales international will bolster their ranks significantly.

It’s also vital for the Molineux outfit to find some cover for Jimenez.

The Mexican spent several months out injured last season when he sustained a horrific fractured skull in a match with Arsenal back in November.

He’s only just returned now and is yet to find the back of the net as Wolves’ troubles in front of goal mount.

They haven’t scored all season and have zero points on the board so signing another striker certainly makes sense.

Moore doesn’t have any Premier League experience under his belt but he is one of the fiercest strikers in the Championship.

The forward beat the goalkeeper on 20 occasions last season which only serves as a positive when you consider Wolves’ troubles in 2021/22 so far.

Speaking to The Transfer Tavern, Wolves journalist Luke Hatfield believes Sven Botman would be a big signing for the club.

Wolves are in the market for a central defender before the transfer window closes and Botman is thought to be high on their list.

According to Sky Sports, the Midlands outfit are interested in signing the Lille youngster but face strong competition for Sevilla.

Wolves have already been able to strengthen that central defensive position this summer by bringing in Yerson Mosquera from Atletico Nacional. However, Hatfield is convinced they would like another addition, suggesting Botman could be perfect.

“It would be a big signing for Wolves, Sven Botman,” the Express & Star journalist said. “He’s been linked with plenty of clubs, clearly a talented player.

“It’s a position that Wolves probably want to strengthen in as well. He’d be a really good signing; I think Wolves fans would get really excited about that one.”

As for centre-backs currently at the club, Conor Coady had been linked with a move away from Molineux earlier in the transfer window.

According to Football Insider at the start of August, Tottenham had opened preliminary talks to sign the Wolves captain as former manager Nuno Espirito Santo eyed up a reunion.

Liverpool had a transfer window to forget over the summer, but their fortunes could have been very different had the club’s hierarchy followed up their interest in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

What’s the story?

The Reds were heavily linked with a move for the highly-rated 23-year-old as Jurgen Klopp aimed to bolster his threadbare forward line, yet no formal offer materialised.

And now, Goal’s Liverpool correspondent Neil Jones has revealed that the Anfield outfit failed to pursue Sarr in the recently concluded window, despite there being substantial interest.

With Xherdan Shaqiri departing, only Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi remain as underwhelming backup options, leaving Klopp seriously short of sufficient strength in depth.

Liverpool fans will be gutted

Liverpool were first linked with the £19.8m-rated gem 12 months ago after an impressive maiden Premier League campaign with the Hornets.

Sarr botched up five goals and laid on a further six assists for his teammates in 28 appearances during the 2019/20 campaign, earning praise from the likes of Gary Neville, who labelled him “special” following a scintillating performance against West Ham United.

The Sky Sports pundit further praised the Senegal international’s pace, intelligence and decision making, highlighting the youngster’s potential.

“He’s a big, big talent, honestly he really is,” the former Manchester United full-back said.

On what makes Sarr so good, Neville continued: ‘I always think, particularly as a wide player, what would I have not wanted to have played against? The first thing is pace.

“And then you’ve got to think about, can he use his pace? Well, yes, he can, because he makes really good quality runs: the spin in behind, straight, but also the run inside in between full-back and centre-back – which I always think is the most difficult to mark.”

The former Rennes ace couldn’t prevent Watford from suffering relegation to the Championship in 2019/20 but did play a pivotal part in their instant return to the top-flight last term.

In 40 outings for the Vicarage Road outfit, Sarr bagged 13 goals and provided 10 assists as Xisco Munoz’s charges earned an automatic promotion spot, showcasing his top-class potential.

Therefore, a large section of Liverpool fans will surely be gutted that director of football Michael Edwards didn’t make a concerted effort to bring the Senegalese to Anfield, providing Klopp with the squad he needs to challenge on multiple fronts this season.

– Nada definido. Sabemos que o Atlético-MG tem grande time e vai pressionar. Temos de ter cuidado. Vamos tentar fazer eles não pensarem no jogo para garantirmos essa classificação para a final, importante para o Vasco e os meninos. Os números são bons para a torcida e o adversário. Temos que apresentar o desempenho dentro de campo. Sabemos que cada jogo tem uma história e é feito de uma maneira. É mais um ingrediente para ter ao nosso lado – comentou o treinador.

Marcus Alexandre não terá à disposição nesta sexta-feira o lateral-esquerdo Alan, suspenso. Luan entrará no seu lugar. Recuperado, Hugo Borges, artilheiro da base do Vasco nos últimos jogos, está relacionado e pode ser aproveitado pelo treinador durante a partida diante do Atlético-MG. Paulo Vitor é outro desfalque por estar com a Seleção Brasileira Sub-20 na disputa do Torneio de Toulon, na França. O técnico também comentou sobre essas possibilidades.

– O Luan já até coloquei no jogo passado para sentir o clima do jogo. Para ele se habituar, já que Alan não pode jogar. Alan é um líder nato, os meninos o respeitam. E o Hugo dispensa comentários, foi artilheiro em todas as categorias e vem um processo de recuperação. Vamos ter cuidado para que a gente o coloque em um momento certo para o confronto – finalizou o comandante do sub-20 do Vasco.

Técnico do profissional, Milton Mendes acompanhará a partida em São Januário para observar possibilidades de jogadores para que sejam utilizadosao longo da temporada no time adulto. Nomes como o próprio Alan, Andrey, Bruno Cosendey e Paulinho já estavam treinando com os adultos, eretornaram para a base nesse momento decisivo na Copa do Brasil. O clube tem a expectativa de que cerca de cinco mil torcedores incentivem o Cruz-Maltino em São Januário na partida desta sexta-feira pela classificação. Em breve, o Flamengo deve ganhar um reforço para a sua equipe, que já estava no Ninho do Urubu. Contratado em janeiro, para se recuperar de um cirurgia no joelho, Dario Conca já pode fazer o primeiro jogo com a camisa rubro-negra. Foi o que garantiu o médio do clube, Marcio Tanure, em um boletim médico divulgado na tarde desta segunda-feira.

-O Conca, como vocês já devem ter visto há algum tempo, não está mais no departamento médico. Ele já treina normalmente com o grupo. Estando liberado assim que a comissão técnica achar necessário – disse o médico.

Assim, a escolha em contar com o argentino, que foi ídolo no Fluminense e teve uma boa passagem pelo Vasco, é do técnico Zé Ricardo. Sem contar com Diego ainda e com Mancuello em baixa, o treinador está com dificuldades para formar o seu meio de campo com criação. Tanto que sem o camisa 10, o Flamengo acabo eliminado na primeira fase da Copa Libertadores.

Assim que começar a atuar, Conca irá receber um salário de cerca de R$ 350 mil mensais. Até agora, ele não recebeu do Flamengo nenhuma quantia. Se atuar por sete meses, o que falta até o fim da temporada, o argentino vai faturar cerca de R$ 2,4 milhões em vencimentos.

Outro argentino no departamento médico, o zagueiro Alejandro Donatti, também teve sua situação resumida pelo médico rubro-negro, Marcio Tannure. Contratado em 2016, o defensor fez apenas oito jogos pelo clube.

-Ele sofreu uma lesão na panturrilha e com isso ainda está na fase de recuperação, na fisioterapia. A gente espera que ele possa estar de volta o mais breve possível – disse.

أعطى الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا” الضوء الأخضر للدول لتشكيل فريق من 26 لاعبًا للمشاركة في نهائيات كأس العالم هذا العام في قطر.

وقد أعلن “فيفا” قراره برفع عدد اللاعبين في كل تشكيلة من 23 الى 26 في مونديال قطر 2022، المقرر في نوفمبر المقبل.

سيتمكن المديرون الفنيون أيضًا من اختيار قائمة تضم 26 لاعبًا في يوم المباراة، مع السماح لكل بلد بالاختيار من بين 15 لاعبًا لم يبدأوا.

لن يتمكن اللاعبون الذين يتنافسون في أول كأس عالم شتوي على الإطلاق من تمثيل أنديتهم بعد 13 نوفمبر، حيث من المقرر أن تبدأ البطولة في قطر في 21 نوفمبر.

سُمح للمدراء المسؤولين عن الفرق في نهائيات كأس الأمم الأوروبية 2020 المتأخرة الصيف الماضي باختيار 26 لاعباً في فرقهم – بسبب ارتفاع الاصابات بكورونا في ذلك الوقت – ولكن كان لا بد من استبعاد ثلاثة لاعبين من تشكيلة يوم المباراة.

وأوضح الفيفا أن قرار تغيير حجم تشكيلات المونديال جاء بسبب التوقيت غير المعتاد للبطولة، والتي من المقرر أن تبدأ في 21 نوفمبر القادم، ولعبت جائحة كورونا أيضًا دورًا في قرار توسيع الفرق.

جاء في بيان صادر عن “فيفا” ما يلي: “نظرًا للحاجة إلى الاحتفاظ بمرونة إضافية بسبب التوقيت الفريد لكأس العالم FIFA 2022 في التقويم العالمي، فضلاً عن السياق الأوسع للآثار المدمرة التي تسببها جائحة كوروناعلى الفرق من قبل، وأثناء البطولات قرر المكتب ما يلي:

“تمت زيادة الحد الأقصى لعدد اللاعبين في قائمة الإصدار من 35 إلى 55.

“تمت زيادة عدد اللاعبين الذين سيتم إدراجهم في القائمة النهائية إلى 23 على الأقل والحد الأقصى 26.

“ستكون الجولة الأخيرة على مستوى النادي للاعبين 23 إلى 26 المرشحين على القائمة النهائية في 13 نوفمبر 2022.

“لن يُسمح لأكثر من 26 شخصًا (حتى 15 بديلاً و11 مسؤولاً في الفريق – يجب أن يكون أحد هؤلاء المسؤولين طبيب الفريق) بالجلوس على مقعد الفريق”.

ستنطلق البطولة في قطر يوم 21 نوفمبر وتستمر حتى 18 ديسمبر.

تستعد السنغال وهولندا للعب المباراة الأولى بالبطولة، حيث ستقام أول مباراة في المجموعة الأولى يوم 21 نوفمبر.

بعد ذلك، يلتقي منتخبا المجموعة الثانية، إنجلترا وإيران، تليها مباراة بين قطر والإكوادور في المجموعة الأولى.

سيختتم اليوم الافتتاحي للمسابقة في مباراة بين الولايات المتحدة وويلز.

Aston Villa learned their opponents for the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, which had a number of supporters talking on social media.

Villa will make the trip to Holker Park to take on Barrow AFC, with Dean Smith’s side the final ball out of the north side of the draw.

Round Two ties will be played during the week commencing Monday, 23 August, and you’d expect Villa’s meeting with Mark Cooper’s men could be one for TV selection.
