جونزالو هيجواين من 2007 حتى 2020 لعب في أوروبا، حيث انضم إلى ريال مدريد من 2007 إلى 2013، قبل الذهاب إلى نابولي وقضى معهم 3 سنوات قبل الرحيل إلى يوفنتوس، وحتى 2020 كان الأرجنتيني لاعبًا لـ البيانكونيري، قبل أن تتم إعارته إلى ميلان وتشيلسي، ومن ثم يرحل إلى الدوري الأمريكي عبر بوابة إنتر ميامي.

وفي تصريحات لشبكة “TYCSports” الأرجنتينية، قال هيجواين صاحب الـ34 عامًا: “يعتقد الناس أن لدينا حياة سهلة وممتعة، ولكن لا، هذا ليس صحيحًا”.

وأضاف: “ليس لدينا نفس الحق في النزول إلى الشارع، فهم يهينونك ولا يمكنك الرد، لأنك إذا فعلت ذلك، سيكون التأثير مضاعفًا، إذا خسرت مباراة، إذا أهدرت فرصة، لا يمكنك الخروج إلى الشارع”.

وأكمل: “في هذا الوقت من حياتي لم أعد أتحمل ذلك، يبدو لي أنه من الظلم للغاية أن أكون قد عشت 15 عامًا في النخبة، ولم أتمكن من الرد على اللحظات التي اضطررت فيها إلى الانحناء في وجه الإهانات وعدم الاحترام”.

وواصل: “لم أعد أتسامح مع عدم الاحترام أو العدوان، بسبب وجود أشخاص مجهولين على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، لكنني متأكد من أن هذا سينتهي عندما يتعين عليهم إظهار وجوههم، اليوم تُصنع النكات بكل أنواع السخرية من اللاعب، ولكن يجب أن نكون على دراية بما يترتب على ذلك، لأنه مع وجود 5 ثوان أمام الكمبيوتر، يمكن أن تدمر حياة أي شخص بإهانته أو الهجوم عليه”.

وأشار: “أنا في واحدة من أفضل لحظات حياتي، أنا ناجح في إنتر ميامي، والشيء الوحيد المهم في كرة القدم هو النجاح”.

وواصل: “أنا بالفعل في مرحلة من حياتي لا أشعر فيها بأي شيء سوى التوازن، هادئ مع نفسي ولا أرغب في الحديث عن أي شيء سوى كرة القدم مع فريقي”.

وعن المنتخب الأرجنتيني، قال جونزالو: “لقد قدمت حياتي للمنتخب الأرجنتيني، وضحيت بالعديد من الأشياء في سبيل قميص المنتخب”.

واختتم: “أنا هادئ لأنني فعلت كل شيء، ولا أندم على أي شيء على الإطلاق مع الأرجنتين، وفخور بكل ما قدمته”.

Cheruvathur and fellow fast bowler Raiphi Gomez rattled the J&K batsmen, sharing nine wickets between them. Cheruvathur finished the day with a haul of six, as none of the home team batsmen could better Ian Dev Singh’s 35 at the top. Kerala faltered as well, during the reply, after Abid Nabi had them floundering at 27 for 3 in the ninth over. But Sreekumar Nair and Sachin Baby fought back with an unbeaten partnership of 32.

Rain in Vijaywada curtailed the first day’s play between Madhya Pradesh and Andhra to only 30 overs, at the end of which the visitors had reached 63 for 2. Play started on time and MP’s openers, Naman Ojha and Jalaj Saxena, added 45 before Ojha was dismissed for 21 by Syed Sahabuddin. Saxena fell soon after, edging Sahabuddin to the wicketkeeper, with the score on 56. Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Devendra Bundela scored four each before play was washed out.

Jharkhand crawled in their first innings, after choosing to bat against Assam, reaching only 160 for 4 in 82 overs on the first day in Guwahati. Opener Siddhartha Sinha top scored with 89, but he played 252 deliveries and spent five hours at the crease to get there. His stodgy resistance came after Jharkhand had lost two early wickets and were 21 for 2 within the first ten overs. Sinha and his captain Saurabh Tiwary, who scored 35 off 98 balls, added 80 for the third wicket and Sinha added another 56 with Rajiv Kumar. Kumar was the slowest of them all, taking 126 balls to plod to 21 but he remained unbeaten at stumps. Sairaj Bahutule picked up 2 for 34 off 15 overs, an expensive economy-rate compared to Arlen Konwar’s 1.07 (30 runs in 28 overs).

Swapnil Asnodkar shone for Goa with a well-compiled half-century against Rajasthan in Margao. The hosts started on the wrong foot though, after being put in, losing Sagun Kamat off the second ball of the day. Even as wickets fell regularly, Asnodkar braved all odds to grind out his fifty, hitting nine fours and a six en route. The unbeaten stand of 43 with Rahul Keni (26 not out) bode well for the hosts, even as 51 overs could be managed in the day.

There was no play on the first day between Vidarbha and Tripura in Nagpur because of rain. The weather was so bad that even the toss could not take place. Umpires S Ramakrishna and R Subramanian, after the third and final inspection at around 3.30 pm, called off play for the day.

West Ham United were dealt a frustrating setback in their quest to qualify for the Champions League this season after they were held by relegation-battling Burnley at Turf Moor.

And it was yet another game in which Michail Antonio struggled in the final third.

The Clarets, who have won just once all season, largely matched the fourth-placed Irons and were resolute enough to not hand them many chances. That said, the 31-year-old put in another lacklustre display and that would’ve undoubtedly contributed to their futile attempts up top.

Across the 90 minutes he had on the pitch, Antonio failed to register a single shot on target, with both his efforts going wide. Even central defenders Issa Diop and James Tarkowski managed to hit the target.

His lack of influence for the visiting east Londoners was reflected by the fact that he recorded the fewest touches of any Hammers starter (34). One less than even goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski (35), as well as managing only ten accurate passes all game, too.

Elsewhere, the Jamaican international struggled to combat the physical threat on offer from the home side, losing possession a whopping 16 times, almost once every other touch of the ball, whilst he also won just 46% of his 15 battles, both on the ground and in the air, only further highlighting the way in which he was dominated by Sean Dyche’s towering backline.

His form has to be a major cause for concern to manager David Moyes and the club. He will certainly feel badly let down by his star man once again because if Antonio isn’t firing, West Ham often aren’t either.

The £70k-per-week forward must do better in the coming weeks, especially as he’s the only option in the role. He must do better.

Nesta sexta-feira, Balbuena concedeu entrevista coletiva após o treino no CT Joaquim Grava e desconversou sobre o assunto. Ao ser questionado se pesava a vontade de jogar a Libertadores em 2018, o paraguaio focou na busca pelo título brasileiro deste ano:

– Minha vontade é ser campeão agora. Não posso pensar no futuro, no que pode acontecer, meu foco total é ser campeão, tentar ganhar os próximos jogos e depois ver o que acontece. Não só eu, meus companheiros pensam da mesma forma porque estamos jogando um torneio e é importante esse foco. Depois teremos tempo e analisar – afirmou o zagueiro de 26 anos.

O paraguaio chegou ao Corinthians no início de 2016, contratado do Libertad (PAR). Neste ano, tornou-se um dos líderes do elenco e participou de 52 jogos, chegando a 94 no total.

As boas atuações fizeram Balbuena despertar interesse de clubes europeus. No meio deste ano, o zagueiro recebeu oferta do Genoa (ITA), recusada pelo Corinthians, e ainda foi sondado por outros times.

Nas últimas semanas, a diretoria corintiana se reuniu com o empresário do jogador para oferecer uma renovação de contrato por mais quatro anos. The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) approved a 15-point plan for the development of cricket in the region, and appointed Larry Romany as their chief operations officer

Larry Romany, the current President of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee, has been appointed chief operations officer of the West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA). The decision was taken at a board meeting on Wednesday, where a 15-point plan for boosting the development of West Indies cricket was also approved.The WIPA approved a team of professionally qualified experts to look at the developmental aspect of the game in the region, and authorized it to audit the structures and programmes currently in place and make recommendations for improvement if need be. The first-class season, it suggested, should consist of two rounds of matches with a minimum of 12 four-day games each season played alongside international series.It recommended the yearly schedule be agreed well in advance for players to be aware of their commitments, and singled out as its immediate priority the appointment of a Director of Cricket to handle all cricketing matters. The WIPA also termed the establishment of a Cricket Academy and its satellite centres as a matter of “extreme urgency”, and proposed the allotment of a fitness manager and a physiotherapist, in addition to a coach and manager, for teams at all levels of the game – from schoolboy to Test cricket.WIPA also called for an improvement in facilities at the first-class level, suggesting that matches at practice sessions be held at international venues or those of an equivalent standard. In an attempt to make the first-class game mirror international cricket, it also proposed adequate preparation for regional as well as national teams ahead of their matches, and the use of the same cricket balls at both levels.The WIPA and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) were involved in a bitter dispute surrounding player contracts in July, when senior players, including Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan, boycotted the Test series against Bangladesh, leading to a second-string team – which lost the series – being picked. However, the two sides reached a truce in October, enabling the selection of a full-strength squad for the ongoing tour of Australia.

Plenty of Everton fans have been left raging over a fresh claim which has emerged from Rafael Benitez.

Speaking in his pre-game press conference ahead of their match at home to Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday night, the Spaniard has claimed (via Patrick Boyland): “We are really disappointed with things. We ran more than Liverpool in every single department but conceded four goals. They punished our mistakes and it is something that we are already analysing.”

It seems as if Benitez is trying to make excuses for why his team lost 4-1 at home to their bitter rivals, but the fact of the matter was that they were embarrassed on their own patch, and it now means they have gone eight matches in the top flight without a victory.

Some Everton fans also pointed out that they probably ran more because they were chasing shadows all game, as they recorded a mere 31% possession against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
