It may be being widely reported that Kabir Ali will leave Worcestershire at the end of the season, but county chief executive Mark Newton is adamant that won’t happen unless someone agrees to pay £60,000 to release him from the last year of his contract.Kabir is said to have verbally agreed a three-year deal with Hampshire, but Newton remains determined over the issue of compensation. “£60,000 is the minimum we would accept to let Kabir leave,” he told the Kidderminster Shuttle. “We feel very strongly about this. Do we run the risk of having an unhappy Kabir next season? Of course we do, but we all know Kabir well enough to know that if he is here next year then he will give 100%.”If, as seems increasingly likely, no other county agrees to the fee, then he has the choice of seeing out his last year with Worcestershire or paying the money himself.Rod Bransgrove, Hampshire’s chairman, also looked to play down his county’s association with Kabir until the contract issue is resolved. “We can’t agree a deal until he is released by Worcestershire. He is a player we are interested in, as I imagine are others, and we will continue to be interested in.”

Although Hamilton Masakadza believed the pitch would not deteriorate too much on the final day of the match when he won the toss and chose to bowl, Waller indicated some of the cracks could cause problems for Zimbabwe when they bat again.”I think the fourth innings will be very different,” Waller said. “There are few footmarks for the left-handers and there are some cracks. Even though they are not opening up much, they might do later on. But for now, he is content to leave it to the likes of Rahat Ali to do the damage and in the process cement a place in the team. “He is a youngster and he is learning. In the future, he will be very good for Pakistan,” he said.

وتابع: “كلاهما أسطورتان في برشلونة، عندما تفكر فيهما تفكر في بقية أساطير برشلونة لأنهما قدوة للجميع”.

وأضاف: “لدي علاقة رائعة مع الثنائي، لا توجد أي مشكلة، لا أحب أن أكون كوسيط لأن البعض يوجه له اللوم في النهاية، أنعم براحة بال في هذا الموقف”.

وواصل: “يتمتع جوارديولا بمسيرة رائعة سواء كلاعب أو مدرب، نحن نريد أيضًا نجاح تشافي وقضاءه فترة رائعة مع برشلونة”.

وعما إذا كانت هناك فرصة لعودة جوارديولا لتدريب برشلونة، قال: “يجب أن تتحدثوا معه عن ذلك، نحن نركز على تأسيس فريق قوي مع تشافي كمدرب وطاقمه الفني، نحن سعداء بما حققوه، وإذا رغب بيب في العودة إلى برشلونة سنقدم له كل ما يريده”.

Jamaica’s Sabina Park is set to get floodlights, according to Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) officials. JCA president Lyndel Wright told Jamaica newspapers that the board has entered into partnership with Consolidated Energy Partners, while treasurer Nigel Logan said the fixtures should be ready in time for Jamaica’s Caribbean Premier League (CPL) matches.”Sabina Park Holdings has entered into an agreement with Consolidated Energy Partners, a member of the Genco Group Of Companies, for the provisioning of floodlights at Sabina Park,” Wright was quoted as saying by the .Logan, who is also director of Sabina Park Holdings and the chairman of its lights committee, said the project will be financed by Consolidated Energy Partners. “The funding, it’s going to be financed by the supplier. The lights will be GE lights and they will be excellent for cricket and have definition similar to what you see in the IPL.” The lights should be ready by August 5, he said, ahead of Sabina Park’s opening CPL match.The idea of floodlights had been mooted earlier this year with the CPL in mind, as Jamaica was the only center among the tournament’s six venues that did not meet the requirements to host day-night matches – reportedly a criterion for hosting CPL games.
