أثار الفرنسي إدواردو كامافينجا مخاوف فريقه ريال مدريد، قبل مواجهة مانشستر سيتي في دوري أبطال أوروبا.

وتعرض كامافينجا لإصابة إثر مشاركته أمام خيتافي في منافسات الدوري الإسباني مساء السبت، واضطر للخروج من أرض الملعب.

جاء ذلك بعد تدخل قوي من أجليسياس خلال الدقيقة 84، الأمر الذي جعله يطلب التغيير، وقام مدربه أنشيلوتي باستبداله بالفعل.

وتواجد كامافينجا على مقاعد البدلاء وبدا عليه الشعور بالألم وكان بيده كيس من الثلج يضعه على ركبته.

وتغلب ريال مدريد على خيتافي بهدف دون رد، وتأتي إصابة كامافينجا قبل أيام من مباراة مانشستر سيتي.

ويلتقي ريال مدريد ومانشستر سيتي يوم الأربعاء المقبل، على ملعب “الاتحاد” لخوض إياب نصف نهائي دوري أبطال أوروبا.

الجدير بالذكر أن مواجهة الذهاب على ملعب “سانتياجو برنابيو” انتهت بالتعادل الإيجابي بهدف لمثله.

O passo burocrático permite que o clube, agora, consiga inscrever o jogador no Campeonato Paulista. Falta somente uma vaga e o técnico Luiz Felipe Scolari admite a possibilidade de preenchê-la com o novo camisa 11, apesar de o jogador ainda não estar fisicamente liberado para ser escalado.

Ricardo Goulart operou o joelho direito no final de outubro e vem se tratando na Academia de Futebol desde então. Ele já realiza trabalhos com bola, mas isoladamente. A expectativa mais otimista é de que o astro tenha condições de jogo na segunda quinzena deste mês, a tempo de poder estrear com a equipe na Libertadores, em 6 de março, contra o colombiano Junior Barranquilla, fora de casa.

Goulart está emprestado até dezembro e é uma das seis contratações do Palmeiras para a temporada. Chegaram também o volante Matheus Fernandes, ex-Botafogo, o meia Zé Rafael, vindo do Bahia, e os atacantes Carlos Eduardo, comprado do Pyramids, do Egito, Arthur Cabral, vendido pelo Ceará, e Felipe Pires, cedido por uma temporada pelo Hoffenheim, da Alemanha.

Depois da derrota por 1 a 0 para o Corinthians, no sábado, no Allianz Parque, pelo Campeonato Paulista, o Palmeiras teve dois dias de folga e voltou a treinar nesta terça-feira. O próximo compromisso da equipe é na segunda-feira que vem, às 20h, no Pacaembu, diante do Bragantino, pelo Estadual.

On the eve of the meeting in which Cricket South Africa will restructure its board, the organisation has been dealt another blow. Acting chief executive Jacques Faul has confirmed he will not apply for the post full-time which means CSA will need to search for a new boss.”I don’t see myself doing the job permanently,” Faul told ESPNcricinfo while sources close to him said the recent infighting was the last straw. Faul has been in the position as a stand-in since March last year after Gerald Majola was suspended and then dismissed. His tenure will only end when a replacement has been found.Since Faul was appointed, CSA’s board has had multiple speed bumps on the road to transition. The latest involves a feud with the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) over the composition of the new structure. In accordance with the ministerial-convened Nicholson commission, CSA’s new board must contain five independent directors, one of whom is the chairperson but SASCOC are opposed to an independent chair.Tomorrow, CSA will decide how they will make up their new board and whether they will honour Nicholson or give in to SASCOC. They will also make a call on the acting president Willie Basson against whom allegations of Apartheid-era wrongdoing were made last week. Basson’s initial threat of resignation and subsequent withdrawal has thrown the board into further turmoil which Faul has decided he can do without in the long-term.The post of CEO has been advertised but the successful applicant can only be appointed after the new board is put in place. Faul was considered the frontrunner for the job because of the positive gains made by CSA in his time in office. The organisation went from losing major sponsors across all formats during the Majola debacle to regaining corporate backing to the tune of millions of Rands.Although deals with Test-sponsor Sunfoil and ODI-backer Momentum were put in place before Faul took over, under him the former’s agreement was extended and the latter’s sewn up. Fast-food giant KFC have the naming rights to international and domestic T20 matches and Blue Label Telecoms back the T20 squad. Some of those agreements now also hang in the balance because they were conditional to board restructure.Faul was previously the CEO of the North West Cricket Union and has had a long involvement in the game. He is completing a doctorate and may walk away from cricket altogether, although he has also been linked to the Titans job, who also have an acting CEO in operation after the sudden death of their boss Elise Lombard last August.Former ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat has also expressed interest in the position but stipulated that he would only consider it if the corporate governance issues at CSA had been sorted out. Since leaving the ICC, Lorgat has worked as a consultant with Sri Lanka Cricket and is now doing work in Pakistan. Lorgat has worked with CSA before as convenor of selectors.

وكان ميسي قد سافر إلى المملكة العربية السعودية، أمس الإثنين، في إطار منصبه كسفير للترويج للسياحة المحلية في الدولة العربية.

وتسببت تلك الزيارة في إثارة غضب مسؤولي باريس سان جيرمان لكونها مفاجئة، حيث لم يكونوا على علم بسفره.

وذكرت تقارير صحفية مختلفة اليوم أن باريس سان جيرمان قرر معاقبة ميسي بإيقافه عن اللعب لمدة أسبوعين، بينما أفادت تقارير أخرى بأن عقد ميسي لن يُجدد في حديقة الأمراء.

وسُئل تشافي عن وضع ميسي، وذلك خلال تصريحاته بعد فوز برشلونة على أوساسونا بهدف دون رد في الدوري الإسباني.

ورد تشافي قائلًا: “يجب أن أتخذ الكثير من القرارات في برشلونة، ليس لدي رأي حول ما يحدث في الأندية الأخرى مع ميسي، لا يمكنني التعليق”.

Graeme Swann and Monty Panesar have yet to experience a Test victory when they have bowled in tandem for England, but after sharing nine India first-innings wickets at the Wankhede they remain hopeful that they can finally put that right at the eighth attempt.Swann took three of the last four India wickets to fall on the second day in Mumbai, including his 200th Test wicket, providing much-needed support for Panesar at a time when India seemed to be taking the game away from England. Instead, the game is a tight one with England, 178 for 2 at the close of the second day, trailing by 149.”We love playing together but our record as a team hasn’t been that successful when we have done so we are looking to change that,” Swann said. “I’m a big advocate of playing two spinners. I love playing with Monty – I grew up with him at Northamptonshire.”I love it when he takes a wicket. That face like a man possessed when he got Sachin Tendulkar out yesterday – I have never seen a man so wound up in my life.”Swann, who began the series with a 51-over marathon in India’s first innings in Ahmedabad, cannot survive that sort of workload, especially bearing in mind his susceptible elbow, but England need a change in fortune when he teams up with Panesar.In fairness to both, it has been England’s vulnerability when batting against spin, rather than their own bowling limitations, which makes their own record appear such a poor one.Swann prefers the Wankhede track to the one he toiled on at Motera. “Even though there is turn and bounce it is a very nice wicket to bat on,” he said. “It is going to start spinning more but good Test pitches should do that.”This pitch is better to bowl spin on than last week. Chamara Kapugedera’s inability to fully grab his many international opportunities is frustrating for the Sri Lankan hierarchy

Sri Lanka cannot seem to make up their mind about Chamara Kapugedera. His 92 ODIs have been spread over six and a half years for a disappointing average of 22.04. He has batted all the way from No. 2 to No. 9. He has gone out of the squad many times, and has made his way back again. Mahela Jayawardene spoke for almost ten minutes on Kapugedera on Monday, but the debate still remained open.Jayawardene conceded Kapugedera had not made the most of his chances, but felt that the opportunities had not been consistent. He said Kapugedera was committed and focused during practice, but admitted he struggled to handle the pressure in a game. Jayawardene hinted that time could run out for Kapugedera eventually, but asked for some more patience given that he was still only 25.”It is frustrating,” Jayawardene said of Kapugedera’s struggles. “If you see the way he bats at nets, and the way Isuru Udana bowls at nets, it’s totally different, and we give them an opportunity. I don’t know whether it’s the occasion, whether they can’t handle pressure, [but] it does not come good for them. If they cannot handle the pressure then we have to move on and give that opportunity to someone else.”But what we see at the nets, the commitment and the attitude we feel that there is something that could spark these guys. We have had players like Marvan [Atapattu] who didn’t have a great start, but people gave him opportunities and he reacted to that. Obviously if they are not performing and others come and grab hold of their chances then they will get more opportunity than guys like Chamara.”Jayawardene said Kapugedera was not being able to carry his focus in the nets to the middle and said that was something for coaches to work on. “He is still young and if he can turn a corner it’d be good. In the last World Twenty20 he was awesome for us in the Caribbean batting at No. 6 [Kapugedera made 95 runs in six games at a strike-rate of 121.79]. The talent is there, but the execution is not there and we have to identify how we can trigger that. We have to be patient. If he is struggling [then] giving him a break, obviously see if there are any other players, but if he is good we have to try him.”Jayawardene said Sri Lanka had limited resources and were looking to give chances to young players. “If you see a player like Nuwan Pradeep wasn’t bowling well six months ago, but we kept him in the squad and today he is doing well.”We try to do justice to all players. We can’t throw out simply because players fail in few games. They are all young players and we need to be patient.”Jayawardene said it was the selectors’ call on whether or not to persist with Kapugedera but added that opportunities had to be capitalised on. “He has not made most of the opportunities, but the opportunities have been far and few. Not consistent. But obviously if someone is fighting for a spot, whatever the opportunity you have to grab it. It’s tough, it’s under pressure, it’s not easy, but we will see how it goes.”
